1509 Steam Basmati
Pusa 1509 is one of India’s most popular extra-long basmati varieties, valued for its slender grain and strong elongation on cooking. Ours is steamed before milling for firm, separate, non-sticky grains.
Two steam profiles
Both profiles are steamed before milling, which firms the grain, reduces breakage and keeps cooked rice separate. The difference is the depth of steaming.

Light Steam
A gentle steaming keeps the grain bright and white, with the clean, classic look that shoppers expect on the shelf.

Dark Steam
A deeper steaming gives a creamier tone and a firmer grain that holds its shape through long cooking and large batches.

Both are steamed before milling. Light Steam is steamed gently and stays bright white. Dark Steam is steamed more deeply, giving a creamier tone and a firmer grain that holds up well in large-batch and restaurant cooking.
